Silvers and anglers battle in Seward

Anglers choke the culverts vying for Seward’s Silver Salmon.
Just outside the harbor’s south breakwater Silver carcasses litter the inter-tidal beach. Fishermen with spinner reels and hefty #6 snag hooks shout encouragements and taunts back and forth as they fight fish onto shore and lose hooks to rock snags until the next low tide.
Short verbal scuffles erupt when lines cross and precious snagging time is wasted. (more…)
